Mega

A German-Finnish internet entrepreneur, Kim Dotcom, opened a new website named Mega. Mega is a file sharing service and it allows people to store 50GB of encrypted content for free. And it has been only 11 days since it has opened, Mega has received 150 copyright warning notices, computerworld.com reported.

The article said that Mega does not have a search function to find other uses’ files, but the website is attempting to collect links to content stored on Mega. It makes easier for people to connect to others and their files. Ira P. Rothken, one of Mega attorneys, said Mega doesn't want people to use its cloud storage services for infringing purposes.

In the U.S., service providers receive notifications of copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If valid and presented in the right form, the service provider is required to quickly remove or block the content, Computerworld added.
