Last week, Dutch court said Samsung did not infringed Apple's patent and USPTO invalidated Apple’s key rubber-banding patent. On October 23rd, C-Net reported that USPTO invalidated Apple’s patent used in victory over Samsung. This is not a final action, but USPTO nixed that all 20 claims in Apple’s rubber-banding patent. Even though the result is not a final decision of USPTO, this is remarkable because the rubber-banding patent is the most important key patent that influenced Apple’s landmark victory in San Jose, California in late August. As we posted on our blog, Korean major Kimchi companies led to the patent suit. On October 24th, Korean Edaily reported that Kimchi maker Chonggajib’s holding company Daesang FNF filed a lawsuit against CJ, the holding company of Hasunjung Kimchi. According to the report, Chonggajib insisted that Hasunjung violated their glutinous rice called ‘Alpha glutinous rice’ patent which keeps the color and gloss of Kimchi during the manufacturing process. On October 25th, AFP reported that Dutch court rejected a suit brought by Apple claiming that Samsung had infringed its patent. Korean money today reported on 26th, after processing semiconductor Equipment Company, Hanmi semiconductor has won several technology leakages and patent lawsuits against competitors. According to related industry, Hanmi won the lawsuit against Samsung’s after processing semiconductor Equipment Company, Secron.
