Google Fails To AdWords Trademark Infringement Claims Against Cybersitter




Google makes a lot of money selling AdWords ads activated by third party trademarks. Google AdWords is Google's main advertising product and main revenue source.  

Recently Google got sued by Cybersitter, a company sells software to block adult content. The company sued by Google for alleged trademark infringement on AdWords. 

The issue was Net Nanny’s keywords and its ads sentence ‘Cybersitter’ for their Adwords ads. Net Nanny paid for the keywords to shown on the web for users who search for ‘Cybersitter’. Cybersitter said that it is a trademark infringement to use the company name for advertising and Google should  have not allowed Net Nanny’s Advertisement with this word. Cybersitter also added Net Nanny ad included the statement, "Protect your child with #1 rated Cybersitter software."
