DOJ Investigating Samsung For Patent Abuse




The patent issues between Samsung and Apple is not over and it is going to be a prolonged war with a new investigation by DOJ.  The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating Samsung Electronics Co. for abusing FRAND patent. To read more about the litigation recently click here.

The document says that the "DOJ has opened an investigation into the manner in which Samsung has used - or misused - its declared-essential patents." And also added Samsung’s comments that the Samsung spokesman, told that "has not received any formal notification from the authorities." Apple said that they have filed its ITC filing that Samsung violated commitments to license its essential patents to competitors on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms. It is said that a Justice Department spokeswoman declined to leave any comments or confirm the probe, also neither Samsung nor Apple responded.
