Solar OLED sues Samsung Display
Ireland's Solas OLED sued Samsung Display in the US
court. According to Solars OLED, Samsung Display infringed their edge OLED
patent technology.
Recently, the lawsuits from patent monsters against
Korean display companies has been in the spotlight.

Solar's OLED is notorious for its patent infringement
lawsuit. In August, LG Display also was sued in the US and Germany for patent
infringement. At the time, they claimed that LG Display have infringed on their
patented technology, and a legal dispute is in progress at present. Recently,
Korean display companies have begun to switch to the OLED field, they’ve been targeted.

It’s expected that OLED litigation will be increasing in
earnest in patent industry. Recently, Korean and foreign display trends are
shifting from LCD to OLED, and Korean companies are also researching and
developing their flagship products as OLED, which is a good opportunity for
patent monsters. Solars OLED is also preparing to buy OLED-related patents in
the US and Japan.

Timing that Korean companies need to prepare
Patent R & D activities continue to increase, patent
