Ariana Grande and her recording company and
other have been sued for copyright infringement by Minder Music, HollywoodReporter said.
The British company, Minder Music, claimed that
the phrase in their song ’troglodyte’, "What we’re gonna do right here is
go back, way back, back into time.” was used in Ariana’s song ‘The way’ without
any permission. In ‘The way’, Ariana repeats "What we gotta do right here
is go back, back into time."
Minder Music is seeking a declaration of
willful infringement, a permanent injunction, statutory damages of $150,000 per
infringement, and further attorneys' fees, the article added.
