Samsung's smartwatch, Samsung Galaxy Gear

Samsung will announce its smart-watch on September 4. 

Details of Samsung Electronics’ smart watch were recently revealed after its design registration at the KIPO. Documents from the KIPO showed that Samsung filed for registration of three design patents of its smart watch in May.  Number of new agencies also reported that the name of the device will be the “Samsung Galaxy Gear” based on its registration at the USPTO on July 29.

The products descriptions and drawings are presenting a flexible screen which wraps around the wrist.  It also describes as a “wearable digital electronic device in the form of a wristwatch, wrist band or bangle,” according to filed trademark description at USPTO.

It is expected that Galaxy Gear is going to be act as a companion device to the Galaxy S tablets and smartphones.
