Sony Released Bob Dylan's New Album 'The Copyright Extension Collection''

Sony Music released a new Bob Dylan album “The 50th Anniversary Collection,” with a subtitle “The Copyright Extension Collection, Vol. 1”, nytimes.com wrote. As the subtitle says, the purpose of releasing this album is to keep Bob Dylan songs under copyright for another 20 years. 

Sony produced only 100 copies of four-CD set. There is also downloadable version at bobdylan.com for the fans who join the site and log on from France or Germany. Click here to see the details of the album list.

In 2011, Europe decided to extend the copyright term for recordings from 50 years to 70. This change will be effective by 2014. To read more details here.
