Google bought Hon Hai's wearable device patent

According to Bloomberg on August 23rd, Taiwan Hon Hai Precision Industry, a primary assembler for Apple sold Google part of a patent portfolio for wearable technology used in gaming and training simulations.

The technology sold to Google is the head-mounted display technology consists of a computer-generated image that is superimposed on a real-world view.

The transaction between Hon Hai and Google may allow Google to leverage its content strength and seek manufacturing contract from the US firm on wearable-computer devices according to Edward Chen, a research analyst at Taipei-based First Capital Management INC.
