CeeColor Industries LLC filed a patent
lawsuit in Delaware claiming Toshiba violated its patent which is related to facial
recognition, Law360 reported.
The facial recognition technology can
trigger photos from webcam to determine the users. When a user is close to the
device, it senses to use without any information and it will be off when he/she
leaves. According to the CeeColor’s filing, Toshiba’s software system has many
elements which was patented by CeeColor. The patent named "Security system
with proximity sensing for an electronic device," were applied in 1999 and
2003. The Toshiba’s laptops which is accused to use Ceecolor’s patented software
was introduced in 2010.
