CNBLUE and Crying Nut, Korean Rock Bands' Copyright Dispute

CNBLUE

The copyright dispute between two Korean rock bands, CNBLUE and Crying Nut, is getting extreme.

cryingnut.kr
CNBLUE, an idol rock band, was sued by Crying Nut for using their song in CNBLUE’s DVD in Taiwan without permission. Crying Nut said that they had a call from CNBLUE’s company and they asked if they can cover the song for DVD in Taiwan. Crying Nut didn’t’ give them the permission to record their song for DVD but they found out that it was recorded in Japan with their AR.

After Crying Nut’s legal action, CNBLUE countersued them for defamation. CNBLUE said that they shouldn’t have mentioned about this case like ‘CNBLUE should pay for their copyright infringement’. They claimed that this infringement lawsuit affected their reputation and it would be hard to regain it as a leading K-wave star.
