The Velvet Underground, US rock band managed by Andy Warhol, and Andy Warhol Foundation settled a trademark dispute, BBC reported.

The Velvet Underground was managed by Andy Warhol since 1965 and he designed band’s banana symbol album cover which is still famous to this day. The members of Velvet Underground sued Andy Warhol Foundation for owning the banana image license. In its filing, the band claimed the court to rule the foundation had no copyright to the banana image.

The foundation was set up for Warhol’s will to advance the visual arts and took ownership of his copyrights in 1987, BBC added.
