Netflix did not infringe Rovi's patent inventions. Mitsubishi and LG Electronics settled.


The US International Trade Commission ruled that Netflix and Roku did not infringe Rovi’s patents, computerworld.com reported.

Rovi Corporation, US company providing guidance tech, entertainment data, copy protection and etc, filed a patent lawsuit in 2012 targeting Netflix, Mitsubishi, LG Electronics, Roku and Vizio. These companies were accused of using Rovi’s patented inventions related interactive television programme guides and parental control technology.

Rovi and Mitsubishi, Vizio and LG settled and signed license agreements, it added.
