Tencent and Google made patent cross-licensing deal

Google and Chinese social media and gaming giant Tencent have agreed a cross-license patent deal about products and technologies. Tencent oversees China’s leading social media and payments app WeChat which has almost one billion users.
Tencent also oversees one of China’s most popular app stores and hosts China’s biggest gaming and livestream platforms.
“By working together on agreements such as this, tech companies can focus on building better products and services for their users,” said Mike Lee, Google’s head of patents. Sam Xu, head of intellectual property at Tencent, said: “We are pleased to advance the collaboration between the two leading technology companies.
“With this agreement, both companies can focus on bringing greater products and services to consumers around the world.”

WIPS in the CPAC 2017

The 8th PIAC took place in Beijing, Sept. 5th - 6th, 2017. As the official event name is upgraded to CPAC (before PIAC), size and quality of the event is also upgraded in 2017. This upgraded event has given WIPS the upgraded opportunity for networking and raising the brand value.

This time WIPS had the presentation on ' How to Use the Invalidation Advisor in Prior Art Search ' showing the improved Invalidation Advisor . Hundreds of audience paid the attention to the improved features and gave a lot of questions. 

The improved Invalidation Advisor will be released in Oct. - Nov. 2017 and will be noticed as the most effective and practical tool for IP practioners.  

WIPS also participated in the exhibition with its own booth. Hundreds of people visited the WIPS booth and showed interests in the upgraded functionality. 

This event brought the special time to learn and exchange ideas with many of IP professionals and show the improvements of WIPS Global to the world.
