Tiffany & Co.won a trademark case
against 78 companies, Bloomberg updated. Those companies were accused selling
counterfeit products of Tiffany on their websites.
The court ruled $2.18 million in damages and
also required the websites to be transferred to Tiffany. The websites‘ domain also
infringed Tiffany’s trademark.
Michael Kowalski, chairman of Tiffany, said in a statement, “Trademark counterfeiting
severely damages brand owners and consumers alike. The way to stop it is to
take aggressive action against the counterfeiters and make them pay, civilly.”
