Apple and Amazon settled ‘appstore'
trademark infringement dispute, Reuters reported.
Apple sued Amazon for using the term ‘app
store’ for its mobile software. Amazon claims that the term was generic and it
cannot be owned by Apple. Read more about it here.
According to Reuters, Apple’s spokeswoman
said that they no longer see a need to pursue our case. She added that they
have already 900,000 apps and 50 billion downloads, so the customers know where
the popular application market is. Amazon said in a statement that they were ratified
that the court has conclusively dismissed this case.
