Hyundai Mobis has been accused patent
infringement by Autoliv. Autoliv is a Swedish company and it develops and
manufactures automotive safety systems for all major automotive manufacturers
in the world. Hyundai Mobis is also a auto parts company in South Korea.
According to a news reports, Autoliv filed
a patent infringement lawsuit claiming that Hyundai Mobis infringed on its
patented technologies. Autoliv said Hyundai’s Elantra has the airbag cushion
module which is patented by them. It prevents passengers’ injuries from air bag
inflation. This is second patent case for Hyundai Mobis after a patent violation
lawsuit by a company in Canada.
Some people think that this is an attempt
to hold back Hyundai Mobis’ overseas expansion. Hyundai Mobis doesn’t have much
of worries about this case. The company had technical review and it was
approved that they didn’t infringed Autoliv’s patented technologies.
