Unilever NV and International IP Holdings,
LLC have filed lawsuits in two separate federal courts. It’s about whether whether the SLIMFUL
trademark infringes the SLIM-FAST trademark, law360 reported.
On March 18th, International IP Holdings (IIH)
filed a lawsuit against Unilever subsidiary Conopco, Inc. in Michigan federal
court. According to Unilever, International IP Holdings filed an application to
register its "Slimful" mark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark
Office, despite Unilever's use of the "Slim-Fast".
Slim-Fast is a brand of shakes, bars,
snacks, packaged meals, and other dietary supplement foods by Unilever. Slim
Fast promotes diets and weight loss plans. Slimful is also diet bars which
manufactured by nternational IP Holdings, LLC.
