Apple vs. Amazon 'appstore' trademark, apple drops.

Apple and Amazon settled ‘appstore' trademark infringement dispute, Reuters reported.

Apple sued Amazon for using the term ‘app store’ for its mobile software. Amazon claims that the term was generic and it cannot be owned by Apple. Read more about it here.

According to Reuters, Apple’s spokeswoman said that they no longer see a need to pursue our case. She added that they have already 900,000 apps and 50 billion downloads, so the customers know where the popular application market is. Amazon said in a statement that they were ratified that the court has conclusively dismissed this case.
